Some herbs provide a limited effect when used. But they have the most benefit when mixed into a potion by a skilled alchemist.

Potions and other alchemistic products

Alchemists have created many concoctions but are very secretive about their recipes. That's the reason why it's unknown how many recipes exist. However, there are two items of legends, famous among alchemists. It's the fabeled philosopher stone and the magical metal orihalcon.
Noone knows for sure, what can be done with the philosopher stone, though some obscure sources say that it is needed to create gold.
Orihalcon is known to be a metal that is even superior than laen in its qualities.
